Rookie quarterback Andrew Luck shined in his opening performance as an Indianapolis Colt; however he might have a tougher time in week two of the NFL preseason. On Sunday night football he faces the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are always tough on opposing quarterbacks. These teams will be using a new football introduced by Nike and there is a good chance that it will affect the game from a betting standpoint.

Luck will be playing in his first road game as a pro, so communication will be key on the offense. He will also have to deal with distractions of playing close to home and facing more playing time and different looks from the Pittsburgh defense.
Luck and the rest of the team will find out really quick just how different it is to play on the road against a talented team.
The Colts new 3-4 scheme on defense will face a more formidable offense in the Steelers as opposed to the Rams.
As expected all NFL teams are dealing with injuries early in the preseason and the Steelers are not exempt. Linebacker James Harrison will be sidelined along with longtime nose tackle Casey Hampton, running back Rashard Mendenhall and fullback David Johnson. The team is still without speedy wide receiver Mike Wallace who is in the middle of a holdout over contract issues.
The Steelers have a nice stable of runners with Baron Batch, Jonathan Dwyer, John Clay, and Isaac Redman. They will be able to pound the ball against the Colts front and get the linebacking corps to cheat and open up passing lanes for Ben Roethlisberger.[poll id=”21″]
The Steelers are deeper and more talented than the Colts and the betting public will still be enamored with Andrew Luck and that will tilt the betting percentages. This may only be a preseason game, but the Steelers defense will be eager to face Luck and shut him down in his second game as a pro.
The popularity of Luck has taken this line lower than it should be and the Steelers will dominate the Colts and win by double-digits in this Sunday Night Showcase.
