NFL Season Record
Last week was a tough week for us, but it deserves noting that it was the first losing week of the season. We posted an unforgettable 6-8 record and now can only move forward. Our season record is now 44-33 against the spread (ATS) still well over .500.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Carolina Panthers
This is not only a game that features two very good football teams, but it could be argued that one of these teams will represent the NFC in the playoffs. With that in mind, we wanted to give more than a quick preview of this game.
Here is a complete preview of the Eagles vs Panthers with predictions and a pick against the spread.
Cleveland Browns vs Houston Texans
The Houston Texans will begin life without JJ Watt when they go up against the Cleveland Browns. The Texans could not replace Watt, but they do their best. Luckily they are going up against the winless Browns. The Browns will most likely go with Hogan at quarterback, but that is yet to be determined. This team should have won, but had too many miscues to include timely turnovers, difficult coaching decisions and missed field goals. This is the week that those bounces go their way. Myles Garrett is healthy and already has two sacks on the season. The Texans will struggle on defense without Watt and that will allow the Browns to keep this game close.
New England Patriots vs New York Jets
Don’t look now but the Jets are in first place. After beating the Browns last week, the Jets continued their winning ways, but this week they will get a true test. They will host a rested Tom Brady and a defensibly improving Patriots team. The Jets deserve all the credit for playing good football up to this point. However with injuries to running back they are thin on offense. The Patriots will use this game to get back on track, protect Brady and win big. With extra time to prepare Bill Belicheck will have no problem beating down the Jets.
Miami Dolphins vs Atlanta Falcons
The Dolphins nabbed their first win of the season and instead of celebrating they had to deal with a controversy. The OL coach Chris Foerster had to resign after an ugly video of him was leaked snorting a white substance. Meanwhile the Falcons had a bye week to get rested up to take on this team. Fortunately for the Dolphins this will not change how they play on the field. It did boost the point spread jumping from (+10) all the way up to (+11.5) The Falcons are good, but they are not winning big. Take the Fins and the points.
Detroit Lions vs New Orleans Saints
The Detroit Lions once again tried a 4th quarter comeback, but fell just short against the Panthers. Now they hit the road to go take on the Saints. The Saints are fresh off a bye week and will be well rested and ready to go. The bye week is exactly what the Saints needed. They are one of the best home teams in the NFL and the Lions come back to earth with an ugly loss. Don’t look for a fourth quarter comeback, because the Saints will keep pressing against the Lions. The Lions have only won against bad teams and struggle when they go up against a quality team.
Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings
The Green Bay Packers have once again proved that they could be the team to beat in the NFC. Rookie Aaron Jones powered the Packers on the ground, and Aaron Rodgers once again put a stake in the heart of Cowboys fans. Rodgers has an even tougher test this week going up against the defensive minded Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings saw Sam Bradford get banged up yet again, so the money is coming in on the Packers. But this defense and Mike Zimmer has Rodgers figured out and they will be able to keep this game close.
Chicago Bears vs Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens have been an up and down team this season. With every impressive win they seem to post an ugly loss. This week they get a rookie quarterback and a Bears team on a short week. The Bears are excited about what the young rookie brings to the lineup but so far he has been a turnover machine. It’s too early to trust the rookie on a short week playing against a very good defense.
San Francisco 49ers vs Washington Redskins
The 49ers have yet to win although they always seem to put a competitive team on the field each and every week. The 49ers join the Browns and the Giants as the only teams to not post a win yet on the NFL season. Things will not get any easier this week as they have to travel across the country for an early start in the nation’s capital. The 49ers defense allowed 159 yards rushing and had an awful 3rd down conversion rate of 29%. The 49ers had two injuries to cornerbacks that will make it difficult to slow down Kirk Cousins and the Redskins offense.
LA Rams vs Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars are the team of the week as they are getting praise for the demolition of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers tried to run and not throw against the Jags and that hurt them in the long run. The Rams like to pass but will also try to run the ball with Todd Gurley. This game opened as a PK and moved to (-2.5) because the sharps know what the Steelers found out the hard way. The Jaguars are a very good team. The prove it again this week when they take down the traveling Rams.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Arizona Cardinals
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are another team that is traveling across country to take on a foe. The NFL betting world has given up on the Cardinals after watching them get destroyed by the Eagles last week. Now although they are at home, they are still listed as small underdogs. The Cardinals have plenty of veterans and they will not give up on the season. The Buccaneers are getting better but do not deserve to be road chalk. Give us the Cardinals as underdogs in a game they should win outright.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Kansas City Chiefs
The Steelers had an embarrassing game and now they have to try and get focused to play the best team in the AFC. The Chiefs are a perfect 5-0 straight up and against the spread this season. After crushing the Texans and putting up plenty of points against a good Texans defense, the bettors will be jumping on the Chiefs bandwagon. Whenever everyone gives up on a team we get on board. The Steelers are still a very good football team and they are the only play in this game.
LA Chargers vs Oakland Raiders
The news to watch in this game will be the quarterback position. Derek Carr said that he could have played last week, but the coaches held him out. That could change this week after the Raiders lost at home to the Ravens. With their season hanging in the balance, the Raiders need a win. The Chargers looked great on the road against the Giants and it seemed like they preferred to be playing away from home. With or without Carr the Raiders are just not the same. Take the bolts and the points especially if Carr is in the lineup.
Sunday Night Football
New York Giants vs Denver Broncos
This Sunday night game probably looked good on paper when they made the schedule. Now the winless Giants are just looking to get the season over with as they have yet to win a game on the season. After watching the Giants lose and seeing Odell Beckham Jr get hurt, the world is against the Giants, which is something we love to see. The Broncos opened as (-9.5) point favorites and that line quickly jumped to double digits as the world stepped up to put money in on the Broncos. The line has moved too much and now the value is on the boys in blue.
Monday Night Football
Indianapolis Colts vs Tennessee Titans
This is another game that will be all about injuries. The Colts will start Brissett as Luck is still not ready to get back into the lineup. Mariota is in the lineup as the Titans really need a win. However, he has a bum hamstring which could of course be problems if he wants to run the ball. The problem is on the Titans side of the ball. The Titans rank 26th in defensive efficiency and that should give the Colts enough to stay close in this game. Look for a big play by Ty Hilton and the underdogs who are 11-2 ATS on the week improve to 12-2 ATS with another big win.
