In Case You Missed It
Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals
In case you missed it we had a complete breakdown and pick against the spread for the Thursday night football game. Depending on what point spread that you managed to get, you would have started the week off with a winner if you followed this pick.
If You Must….
This category features the games that you should really pass on instead of betting on. IN a perfect world we would pass on these games, but since we offer picks on every game this week we will give you our thoughts on these ugly games.
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Tennessee Titans
This game is ugly because you have to wonder if the Bengals have anything to play for anymore. The Titans most certainly do, but they are a run first, defensive minded football team so you have to wonder if they will struggle to cover a number bigger than a field goal. If Mariota was healthy we would love the Titans because the Bengals are 1-7 ATS as road dogs in their last eight tries. We like the Titans, but not a strong play.
New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers
The Giants are giving up on the season, hate their coach and are looking for towards the future. The 49ers could be in tank mode knowing if they lose this game, they may not get another win this season. It amazes us that handicappers believe that they can have a handle on this train wreck of a game. Flip a coin.
Green Bay Packers vs Chicago Bears
The Bears are favored over the Packers for the first time in 9 years. The Packers have been a mess since Aaron Rodgers went down and are on a short week going on the road. The Bears may be the better team, but this is not a team that is used to being a mid-sized favorite. This is an ugly game, but the Bears are a perfect 4-0 ATS since Trubisky got the starting job and they have an incredible defense. Unfortunately the Bears are not good enough in our opinion to get a blowout win.
Cleveland Browns at Detroit Lions
The Browns are bad but they are in a good spot because they are off a bye week and the Lions have a short week. The problem is the Browns defense allows 69 completion percentage rate. That is good news for Stafford and company although this is a game that should be passed on.
Counting on a Correction
Unless you have been living under a rock you know that the favorites have been killing it this year. In fact in the last three weeks the favorites are cashing in big time and that is crushing the sportsbooks. This is the week that there is a correction.
New York Jets vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs have no Jameis Winston and no Mike Evans so over 70 percent of the public is betting on the Jets as a road favorite. That is a big mistake. Ryan Fitzpatrick starts for the Bucs and he would love to stick it to his former team. Teams off a blowout (20 or more points) are undervalued having gone 385-324-17 (54.3%) ATS since 2003 and the Bucs are the play as a home dog.
New England Patriots vs Denver Broncos
The Patriots are the biggest public play on the board and it is a Sunday night football game which means the Patriots will be a big game for the sportsboosk this weekend. There is no doubt that this game will be up to eight points by game time and this game will get heavy teaser action. The Patriots and Tom Brady don’t play well in Denver but the Broncos have been blown out in its last four games. It’s going to be ugly, but we are on the dog.
Houston Texans vs LA Rams
The Rams are everyone’s favorite upstart team and they face a Texans team that has been destroyed by injuries this season. Over 76 percent of the bets are on the Rams dropping double digits. Teams that are getting 70 percent of the bets and are favored by more than 7 points are only winning at a 45 percent rate. Fade the Rams as the Texans defense and running game can keep this close.
This is some of the medium plays with some quick thoughts on why we like a team and why they will be winners this weekend.
Minnesota Vikings vs Washington Redskins
One of our favorite betting angles is taking a home team that is an underdog after they won outright on the road as an underdog, They theory is this team will have confidence and play well.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs Indianapolis Colts
The public will love Pittsburgh off a bye against the Colts this week. However, double digit favorites on the road are just 28-42 ATS of late, giving the value to the home team.
Miami Dolphins vs Carolina Panthers
The Dolphins have given up on the season, traded their best player on offense and are 0-7 ATS on Monday night football. Panthers are running the ball again and the defense is getting better every week.
The best part of the NFL week is trying to pick upsets and we have a few for this week featuring some big named teams.
Dallas Cowboys vs Atlanta Falcons
The Cowboys will be without Ezkiel Elliot so everyone is looking for some letdown by the boys. Unfortunately the Falcons are an awful team on defense. They rank in the late 20’s when it comes to defending the pass and the run. The Cowboys defense can stop the passs and that means another long day for Matt Ryan and the Falcons.
LA Chargers vs Jacksonville Jaguars
The whole world is on the Jags and their great defense but the Chargers are well rested and off a bye week. They have a veteran QB in Philip Rivers who does not make many mistakes. The Chargers defense is also pretty good and they can force Bortles into mistakes. The Chargers always keep games close and this should be no different.
NFL Week 10 Best Bet
Each and every week we will highlight our best bet on the card and this one game will be labeled the best bet of the week.
New Orleans Saints vs Buffalo Bills
The Saints hit the road to try and keep winning but it won’t be easy in Buffalo. The weather will be brutally cold and the Bills will be aggressive on defense. On offense the Bills get the services of Kelvin Benjamin who should score in his season debut. Buffalo is 11-4 ATS in the last 15 home games as a home dog. The Saints have the 28th run defense which means McCoy should run wild and the Bills will win outright as a home dog.
