The New York Giants are the defending Super Bowl champions, but in just a few months from now a new season will begin. Last year at this time, not many experts were picking the Giants to win it all and the odds proved that. This year many teams have a shot at winning it all and here is a look at the favorites and a few surprise teams that can win Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, Louisiana.
New York Giants (Best Odds at Top Bet: 20-to-1)
There is no tougher task in sports than repeating as champions in the NFL. The New York Giants will try to do it again when they kick off the 2013 campaign. The oddsmakers don’t have faith in Big Blue as they are listed at 20-to-1 to win back-to-back titles. The Giants managed just nine wins a year ago and with Eli Manning under center this team has a decent chance of winning it again. However it is interesting to note that they are not the favorites to win it all in 2013.
Green Bay Packers (Best Odds at Just Bet: 6-to-1)
Although the Green Bay Packers could not win it a year ago, they are the favorites to win it in 2013. Aaron Rodgers returns with a high powered offense that can put up big points against any defense in the league. The problem in front of the Packers is that they are getting old on defense, especially in the secondary and they play in the very challenging NFC North. According to the season preview the Packers will not have a shot of winning the Super Bowl, but there is another team that is a favorite to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.
New England Patriots (Best Odds Wagerweb: 6.25-to-1)
The New England Patriots have been one of the most successful NFL franchises and last year they went to the Super Bowl, so it comes as no surprise that they are one of the favorites to win the big game in 2013. As long as the Pats have Tom Brady and Bill Belichick they will compete for a championship. It helps that the Pats had an excellent draft that helped the defensive side of the ball. Look for the Patriots to make a run to the big game once again.
With the favorites out of the way it is time to look at some surprise teams that could win it all.
Denver Broncos (Best Odds EZStreetSports: 14-to-1)
The Broncos made the biggest splash in the off-season by grabbing Peyton Manning to play quarterback. He will be a top-notch addition to a team that went to the playoffs without a true quarterback. (Sorry Tim Tebow). If Manning can recover from his injury, the odds look tempting for the Broncos.
Dallas Cowboys (Best Odds at Top Bet: 25-to-1)
Jerry Jones admitted that the window is closing on the Cowboys to win a ring. The weakness for this team a year ago was on defense and the Cowboys answered those concerns with a very solid draft. With a healthy Tony Romo and a scary offense, the defense could play well enough to bring another ring to Big D.
The Denver Broncos and the Dallas Cowboys may surprise this year but the true longshot that may just win it all is a stunner.
Buffalo Bills (Best Odds at Just Bet: 75-to-1)
The Buffalo Bills started off strong a year ago before faltering with a suspect defense. They had one of the best offseasons in the NFL. They solidified the defense by signing Mario Williams and resigned all of the key pieces on offense. Ryan Fitzpatrick is a smart quarterback and this team may be a longshot to win it all, but they could easily shock the world and finally bring a ring to Buffalo.
