2013 New York Giants Preview

The New York Giants are looking to return to Super Bowl form after a less than inspiring 2012 season. Eli Manning is still at the helm and that always makes this dangerous team to deal with. The Giants offensive line is one of the best in the

big leagues as they allowed a league low 20 sacks a year ago. That kind of protection will keep Manning upright and keep this offense lighting up the scoreboard.

Where the Giants do struggle however is on defense especially when attempting to defend the pass. The G-Men allowed 4,068 passing yards, the fifth-most in the National Football League, and a league-high 29 passes of 30 yards or more a season ago. In fact it is this leaky defense that has convinced the online sportsbooks to lower the Giants potential win total from a season ago.

2013 New York Giants Predictions

The Giants have a tough start to the schedule as they play the first three out of four games on the road. Manning has plenty of options on offense led by Victor Cruz, so the offense should be the most powerful cog of this team, but the defense is not improved enough to take on top ranked offenses.

With games against Peyton Manning, Robert Griffin III, and Russell Wilson, the Giants defense will have to improve quickly. Even when the Giants went to the Super Bowl they only notched nine wins. Getting ten wins will be nearly impossible against this schedule and the only prediction for the win/loss season total is under.
