2013 New England Patriots Preview
The NFL off season is usually filled with good news as teams sign new players and begin to build hope for the upcoming season, but that has not been the case for the New England Patriots. In fact it could be argued that they had the worst off
season in the NFL. From injuries, to free agency, to off-the-field-injuries, the Patriots have a lot of work to do before the start of the 2013 season.

2013 New England Patriots Off-season
The Patriots off season has been a complete disaster. Off the field, Aaron Hernandez has stolen the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. That arrest alone could cost the Patriots an AFC title this year. The Patriots released the talented tight end seemingly minutes after he was charged for murder. As that story continues to develop, corner back Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for a DUI. All of a sudden a highly regarded football franchise is under scrutiny for the risks they have taken in the past.
The Patriots had some problems that actually deal with football as well. They lost Wes Welker to the Denver Broncos and Danny Woodhead bolted for the Chargers. The Patriots hope that the additions of Leon Washington, LeGarrette Blount, and Danny Amendola will make up for the losses, but there will be a new look on the Patriots offense this season. When the 2013 season kicks off there will not be a wide receiver on the Patriots roster that has ever caught a regular season pass from Tom Brady. They hope some rookie they grabbed in the draft (Aaron Dobson, Josh Boyce) will have an immediate impact.
The Patriots also upgraded the defense in the draft as well as free agency. The first pick for the Patriots was Jamie Collins out of Southern Mississippi and they signed safety Adrian Wilson to bolster the secondary.

2013 New England Patriots Predictions
The Patriots have one of the best quarterback/coach combos in Brady and Bill Belichick but this will easily be one of their most challenging seasons. The Miami Dolphins will compete for the AFC East with all of their additional pickups which could make things a bit tougher. The schedule is also littered with difficult games to include road battles at Baltimore, Atlanta and Houston and demanding home games against New Orleans, Pittsburgh and the Denver Broncos.
The Patriots may be one of the favorites to win the AFC and the Super Bowl, but it will be too much to ask this team to have 12 wins this season.
